I liked the idea that the movie portrayed Hancock as human. What I mean by this is that he has his own problems that he has to get over. Too many Superheroes seem too perfect and they really have no flaws. Overall I gave Hancock a 3.5 out of five (I use the half star scale). The movie was good but not great in my opinion. I thought the movie suffered from trying to do to many things in one movie. There are comedy, action, superhero, drama, and even a little romance elements in this movie. That is way too many genres for a movie. If they would have only focused on two or three genres I think the movie could have focused on those elements more and the movie could have been truly special. Despite this fact I still enjoyed the movie and I would recommend it to anyone that thinks the premise of the movie sounds interesting.

I would warn parents of smaller children that there is a decent amount of swearing in this movie so if this concerns you, you probably shouldn’t take you kids to see Hancock.
