Sound and Vision has served up the 25 best Halloween Blu-Ray choices for you all to watch for the final 2 weeks to Halloween.  This list overall seems pretty good except they have listed Splice in there, which is my contender of worst movie of the decade so ignore that.  Click the link for all 25 in horrible slide show format.

The Dead Quiz.  Questions about deaths in Horror movies, how many can you get right?  I missed two.  Tell me how many limbs fell off of your guy in comments.  Reviews should be coming today.

Ebert, Siskel and Roeper Reviews Now Online. http://the-reviewer.net/2007/08/02/ebert-siskel-and-roeper-reviews-now-online/ http://the-reviewer.net/2007/08/02/ebert-siskel-and-roeper-reviews-now-online/#respond Thu, 02 Aug 2007 21:09:17 +0000 http://the-reviewer.net/2007/08/02/ebert-siskel-and-roeper-reviews-now-online/ Siskel and Ebert

Now I know that I say I do not like critics, and I don't.  I find that most of what these guys say is overdone, excessive, and put up on a higher level than what it really is.  Movie dorks watching movies and telling other people what they thought about them.  However it is a great thing for the internet, and for free information everywhere to have all of these reviews released for us to check out.  I can take every review I have ever done now and see what the top critics in the world thought and wrote against my crap.  I doubt I will do more then like the last 3 movies on my list, but I have that option and I like that.   So if you are dying to know what Ebert, Siskel, and Roeper have said about any movie since 1958 check them out at the link below.  However be careful the site, as with most critics reviews, are filled with way too much information about the movie, including very long clips that will show you tons about the movie, and tell you too much about the plot.  The main reason I hate critics.

Red and Black Means Nudity!!! http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/25/red-and-black-means-nudity/ http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/25/red-and-black-means-nudity/#respond Wed, 25 Jul 2007 18:39:23 +0000 http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/25/red-and-black-means-nudity/ Color Range Movie Posters

Well maybe not always.  But over at Under Consideration they took all the top grossing movies of all time and took the colors of their posters based on ratings, and saw a general pattern.   Kids stuff, more blues and greens, and NC-17, well Black and Red.  It is pretty cool to check out, even just to see what all the posters are for the top 5 of each rating.  Check it out.

Jellyfish, shopping, but they sell movies. http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/19/jellyfish-shopping-but-they-sell-movies/ http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/19/jellyfish-shopping-but-they-sell-movies/#respond Thu, 19 Jul 2007 21:51:12 +0000 http://the-reviewer.net/2007/07/19/jellyfish-shopping-but-they-sell-movies/  Jellyifsh Logo

Now I usually would not post about shopping sites.  However, Jellyfish, is something I really like.  I am on there almost everyday checking out deals and seeing what is going on.  They are a normal site, that gives cash back when you buy stuff from all kinds of merchants like Circuit City and Deep Discount DVD.  So yea, you can buy stuff, no big deal, I wouldn't recommend that.   They have this other part, called smack shopping.  Click on the logo to go there.   It's an internet game show.  You can win money, win prizes, and get crazy deals on stuff.

It works like this.  There is an item posted, and the item starts at full price.  Every second it gets cheaper, till it sells out.  Most of the time there is only 1 product, but during the live smack shows, there is more than 1 product.  I have seen things go for 100% off, I have seen crazy deals on cameras and wii stuff, and lots of other things, I have seen a girl win a wii, and a guy win $500 dollars.  The community is very cool, and the game is actually very fun.  It might seem weird at first, but check out the schedule and check out a live smack show, they are the most fun, but you can get good deals on lots of random stuff.   I have bought things, and have won money myself.  I have won 13 dollars, and had a chance at 140 but I got the question wrong, but I did have that chance.  There is a wheel spin, and leaderboards for most points in certain categories, it really is a neat game, even without the good deals.  You don't have to buy anything to win money.  It seems like noobs get picked more than people that have been around a long time.  Click on the logo or the link below to sign up.  This is not a paid or sponsored link, it is just me liking the site and telling you all about it.

Time to get the buzz on for The Simpson's Movie.  You can make your own Simpson's Avatar of yourself over at http://www.simpsonsmovie.com/main.html Or you can just click the pic and it will take you there.  I could not figure out how to save the image, so I took a screen shot and uploaded it myself.  But it is still fun, I think that looks a lot like me.  Post what yours look like in the comments.

Edited to add Libertie

Quick Links http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/19/quick-links-3/ http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/19/quick-links-3/#respond Tue, 19 Jun 2007 18:51:48 +0000 http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/19/quick-links-3/ Got a couple of quick links for you today.

  • Clay has got a cool site where he has movie reviews shorter than mine.  He is a man after my own heart.  Single Sentence Movie Review is a site where Clay, and you can submit 1 sentence movie reviews.  I might just have to start dropping a few over there every once in a while.

  • I don't even know if I should be linking to this next one.  The top 10 is just horrible.  But Rotten Tomatoes has the top 100 rated sci-fi movies of all time.  This is not a list they compile by one or two peoples opinion, but just the general average tomato rating for all the movies they have tagged as Sci-Fi.  It has made for an odd top 10 I think.

Which Movie Reviewers Should You Believe? http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/08/which-movie-reviewers-should-you-believe/ http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/08/which-movie-reviewers-should-you-believe/#respond Fri, 08 Jun 2007 20:37:34 +0000 http://the-reviewer.net/2007/06/08/which-movie-reviewers-should-you-believe/ Cool link over at Wise Geek.  This has a small list of movies, you select what you picked, and it will compare it to all the other critics out there, to find out what you most agree with.  Then it will give you the list.  I of course am not one of the reviewers on the list…YET.  My list is below.  So if I am not reviewing a movie, Rotten Tomatoes, is pretty close to what I think about movies.  So you can go check them out.

  • Rotten Tomatoes : 87%
  • James Bernadelli : 83%
  • Peter Travers : 82%
  • Roger Ebert : 78%
