One Sentence: The best movie made from a 12 minute TV show you will see all year.

I can not stress enough that if you have never watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, you have no reason whatsoever to read this review, or even go see the movie.  Aqua Teen probably being the most absurd show on TV kicks the absurdity into overdrive, with less censorship, in their movie premiere.  So if you have never seen the show, which leaves a lot of people lost.  The movie can, as many have reported, make you walk out.

Having said that, I will back that this movie if you are experienced with the show, is quite funny, and I think something that a true fan would enjoy.  It was funny, crazy, and brought back a lot of the characters everyone loves, and even gave us a little back story.  Some questions might have been answered, and new ones created.  However it was missing a bit of something.  I think what it was really missing was a new story, it was mostly a longer version of an episode, with nothing bigger than that.  No big new characters, no plot line that was worthy of the big screen or anything that many people come to expect from a movie version of a TV show.  Which I guess is fine, if like me, you like the show, because I did enjoy the movie.  I guess though I would expect just a little something more.

Luckily my Broodwich that I was eating and Evilangel's Aqua Teen Combo Meal from The Alamo Drafthouse, made that void from the missing oomph from the movie, feel a little less empty.

The movie is only on 800 or so screens so you might have problems seeing it on the big screen, but I think that is ok.  This movie is a perfect renter.  It is good, but nothing so awesome about it that you have to see it in the theater, and for any fans, it works as a DVD to go along with your collection of season's anyway.  So add it to the queue, don't drive 2 hours just to go see it, and make your own Broodwich at home, it will save you the 9.99 I paid for mine.
