Winged Migration

Rated: G Running Time: 89 minutes Year: 2001 Boobs: Zero One Sentence: Beautiful. This movie that is short, and only has birds in it has is so much more than just birds. The film that took place over 4 years is the images of birds migrating back and forth from thier winter and summer homes. Many differnt types of large birds, Geese, Cranes, Ducks, Pelicans and Penguins. The movie has very little narration, and is mostly just wonderful shots, is about as beautiful as a film can get. The shots that are accompinied by music are amazing. Shot with ultralights as the birds fly thousands of miles, it is truly very interesting, and very cool looking. The sounds and visuals are immersive, and with the lights out and your attention completly on the movie, you feel light and surrounded by the birds. #2 (on of my cats) was completly enthrawled by the movie, walking right up to the screen and repeadatly looking around for the bird noises, and swatting at the screen trying to get them. Unlike "March of the Penguins" this movie has not as much of a story, and is more just shots of flights and landing, and some dangers they must face on thier long travels. But it does not take away from the quality of the film, which are shots that no one has ever been able to get before, and it worth watching if you enjoy nature and nature footage.
