Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price

Rated: NR Running Time: 95 minutes Year: 2005 Boobs: Zero One Sentence: Wal-Mart is the devil! Wal-Mart online is where I got my start, my dad worked for them for a while as a director of development. Wal-Mart from my point of view in not a terrible company. But I also know that they are not a good company to those who work hourly in their stores. This non-narrated documentary, is supposed to show the evil side of Wal-Mart. All the evil it does and causes. EVIL! The movie is all right. It is just about as I expected it to be. It had people who got crushed by Wal-Mart in one way or the other telling their stories about how it happened, and to pull on your heart strings and make you feel sorry for mom and pop. I guess it works, the movie does not come off as fake, or making up stories to try to give it's point of view. Some of the points that are made I felt were valid, while others I feel are part of the marketplace, and tough titty, if you got crushed by someone else. I don't feel like my life was changed watching this film, or that it was going to cause me to stop shopping at Wal-Mart as little as I do already. You could or could not rent it, I do not think I would say that everyone should see this movie, you owe it to your grandchildren. I think if you do not like Wal-Mart this will help you understand why you should hate them, and if you like them, then this movie might paint a picture you never knew about them, but it doesn't mean it is going to change your mind.
