175 Million Dollars. The Most Expensive Comedy Ever Made. You know why you don't spend 175 million dollars on a comedy, well besides the fact that you won't make it back, you don't spend 175 million dollars on a comedy, because when it isn't funny, everyone is going to know you were part of one of the biggest flops ever made. Who said yes to this? How did this even cost that much. There was nothing in it to warrant that price tag.
Overall the movie is not funny at all. I didn't think it is funny in the sense of being a comedy. It was light, and cute, and family focused, but that doesn't mean it was a comedy. I don't think they had anywhere else to put this movie besides comedy, and putting Steve Carell in it made everyone call it a comedy. So it was a expensive unfunny comedy about God and a Flood. I mean how are they not packing in the theaters? The showing we went to, was not very full.
The message in the movie was nice. It was a nice family movie. I woudn't say I was offended or laughing or much of anything. The movie was pretty bland, a little boring, and had a nice message. I think in no way should you go to the theater to see it, and maybe only maybe should you rent it. I really don't think you would miss much if you never rented it either.
