This week I will close a chapter of movie history, I will complete the rest of the Friday the 13th series, never to be opened again by me. I own all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, however Friday the 13th, I have tried 7 so far, and well they all suck compared to Nightmare. I am going to finish them off though, it is my promise to you all. I am sure you all don't even care, I am probably the only person here who hasn't seen these.
Nightmare 7 brings Jason back to life, shocking I know for another killing spree. The killing spree however was kind of ruined by the MPAA who threw a fit and gave the movie an NC-17 originally, which led to some cuts and some very dry killing. Part 6 was pretty gory, where 7, went back to the old, show the knife, and then show the dead person shots. Very disappointing, if you don't have gratuitous killing then what is the point of making a Friday the 13th movie. They made up for part 6 in the nudity factory with 2 sort of naked girls, however it also was tame and lacking that horror movie feel.
Part 7 brought on Kane Hodder as Jason, who has kept the role until now. He wore the mask well, and in part 7 they show you Jason's face, which was not a pretty site. That is the only thing that make this movie worth watching. There is no lore on Jason again, no really great kills, and a plot that was as bad as the acting. I can't believe these movies were as popular as they were, they were so bad, and not in that cool B movie way.
