I saw this over a week ago but I just had a lot going on and then the site went down so I could not write the review I am sorry. Sly is awesome. He seems like a very nice guy, maybe a little crazy, but down to earth and I have nothing bad to say about him. I don't even say anything about him as a 60 year old man trying to do Rocky and Rambo. That is his thing and I am down with it. I never loved Rambo like I did Rocky when I saw a kid, but for some reason getting to see this Rambo made me excited.
I think the excitement is worthy. It is a Rambo movie like the others, except way more bloody. Weak story, hostages, a jungle or hostile territory, and RAMBO blowing shit up. It works, it is awesome and it is possible that this movie killed more people with a machine gun than any other. And not just kill, rip giant bloody holes in.
This movie did not even try to be accurate with the body destruction, or maybe it is and all other movies are weak. There were bits of bag guys flying all over the place. Things getting shot off, blow off, ripped off, cut off, in the end there were more pieces of people than people in the movie. It was great. The movie delivers Rambo, this time wearing a shirt, but still Rambo. He kills, he shoots, he fights for justice and what is right. I would say go see it this weekend even in the theater. It is fun enough to pay for.
