I had faith, it looked funny so I was excited about seeing it. I know that Evan Almighty was a crapfest, but I have faith in Steve Carell and Dwayne Johnson, I just love. So I was excited. I didn't think it was going to be the next best comedy of the summer, but it would at least be good, and for the most part I was right.
Get Smart is just good enough for you to leave the theater satisfied that you saw a pretty good movie. There is nothing there that is amazing, but it is solid throughout. It has a simple plot, a forced romance, and good jokes. This is really all you needed. It has a bit of action thrown in there as well, but for the most part it is a funny comedy that does not fail to bring consistent laughs.
No where did I care about the plot however, I wasn't worried about the conflict, but I don't know if I was supposed to be. I guess it would be nice if not only were there jokes, but you also cared about the plot, but that is asking a lot and I would of rather had a funny movie than a better plot. So this one is a renter for sure, and if you are feeling it go see it in the theater. It won't disappoint.
