Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Hellboy II Poster

Rated: PG-13

Running Time: 110 Minutes

Year: 2008

Nudity: None

One Sentence: Better than the first.

I was not a complete and total fan of the first Hellboy movie.  Actually that is a lie, I didn't like it at all.  I just didn't feel it, it felt slow and lost and out of control, with this guy who I did not care about.  However Hellboy II just looked awesome and I was excited about seeing it.  It just looked better overall like it had a seasoned director who learned some things of the few years since his first came out and was going to deliever a better product.

It was a much better product.  Guillermo Del Toro delivered a wonderful world of fantasy.  A world that lies right below our world, and painted a picture of monsters, faries, magic and a golden army that I think very few people could have done.  The movie visually was amazing, the fights, makeup, CG, and all of it mixed together was just perfect.  It was everything I hoped it would be visually, and I can say that I think this movie is worth watching just for the world that was created.  You could turn off the volume and just watch the movie and have a good time.

The story I liked very much more as well, I thought it was magical, engaging and I sure did care a lot more about Hellboy and his buddies.  Everything about this movie was done better than the first and I am now excited for a 3rd movie if there is going to be one.  I defently think that if you do not have kids and are looking for a good movie this one will do it for you.  So check it out this weekend.
