One Sentence: I think I have seen this movie before a few times.
The movie looks good. It is the type of movie everyone wants to believe in. The story, the idea, the justice, and what is right. We want to believe that we are not powerless against the giant monster corporations, and that things are still right in this country, when the little guy falls. So the appeal of a movie like this makes sense. In the end however you feel like you have seen this all before. Packagaed a little differently, but is the same movie as many others.
Not that this movie is not worth seeing or knowing about. The movie is a good movie, the story is inspiring, good, depressing, and feels very real. It feels like a real life movie, and that not only are there ups, but a lot of downs as well. We have all of that in a story that makes you feel like you want to back this crazy man and his determination. The values presented here show the best and worst of people and it portrays them in an easy to understand format that allows for everyone to understand what is right, and what is wrong. So just because you might have seen this movie a few times before, doesn't mean it's not worth checking out again, with different actors.
Greg Kinnear does a wonderful job as the inventor of the blinking eye windsheild wiper blade. He handles the swings well that were required of the character, and carries the pain that this man had to carry very well. The decisions made in this movie were hard ones and I think that it shows and really makes you understand his choices.
Flash of Genius is not the best of these types of movies, it has some flaws, and is predictible, but I think the story is good enough and if you like court room and underdog stories you will like it. So I think you can hold off and rent this one if the story sounds good to you, you will like it and be satisfied with it after seeing it.
