One Sentence: Hey guess what came out this weekend?
So I am thinking you are proabably as surprised to see that poster above as I am putting it up there. The previously very hyped, now, completly hidden Dragonball Evolution came out this weekend to absolutley no notification to anyone on the planet. I accidentally found out this came out becuase I saw on the home page of IMDB.com that it was releasing this weekend. So I had to go see it, if it was that hidden from release there had to be a reason for the lack of marketing, and I had to see what it was.
I am here to report sadly, that this is not the trainwreck of the year that I think many of us expected it to be. I think that hardcore Dragonball (not Z) fans will be fairly upset with this broad generazilation of the original Dragonball story, but overall the movie is just an average mid-budget action movie. In no way is it horribly bad or amazingly good, and really pushes on a slow boring movie that does not deliver much for anyone. It had some story from the original Dragonball line, and a lot of the art and imagery looks quite good comapred to the original cartoons and manga. Especially Bulma who I thought looked great.
Overall there is not much to report, it's just a regular old boring movie that no one is going to be buzzed about and really doesn't deliever a good or horrible time. It was completly mediocre and that is that. I guess if you really want to see it you can rent it and it would be just fine. I think fans it would be worth the rental as long as you don't expect perfection.
