I really liked Shrek 1 and 2.  I thought they were sweet, cute movies, that were very funny and good movies for the whole family.  Shrek 3 came out and really I just pretend it doesn't exist.  I was very worried about Shrek Forever After in 3-D.  I thought it was going to be just some cranked out 3-D movie that drug the once great story further down the hole.  I am happy to say that is was the complete opposite.

Shrek Forever After had everything that I loved about the first 2 Shrek movies.  It was funny, very funny actually, it tied in that fairy tale world in with modern jokes very well.  The story was interesting  and fun, and brought in a great new villain, Rumplestiltskin, who was hilarious.  Everything about this movie delivered what the audience is looking for.  It has stuff for the kids, stuff for the adults and everyone in between.  If you are a fan of the first 2 movies, you will like Shrek Forever After.

As far as the 3-D goes, if you don't want to spend the extra money on the 3-D, Shrek Forever After does not require seeing it in 3-D like How To Train Your Dragon did.  You can get away with seeing it in normal 2-D and you won't be missing much, but I would go see it in the theater this weekend with the kids, or maybe even without them.
