Men In Black III Movie Review

Men In Black III Movie Review Poster

One Sentence: This wasn’t a movie people were asking for.

Rated: PG-13

Release Date: 25-May-2012

Nudity: None

I was fine with there only being 2 Men In Black movie.  I wasn’t hoping for another.  I didn’t think it was a trilogy.  Pretty much I didn’t see anything in this movie except a cash grab.  Adding the post production 3-D conversion, just adds further to the cash grab this movie was trying to be.  I did enjoy the other Men In Black movies and I liked Will Smith, so I thought it is possible it could have been good.  Maybe it wasn’t hastily thrown together and just a mediocre shell of a movie.

Sadly it was a hastily thrown together, mediocre shell of a movie.  It had none of the charm, humor or fun of the first two movies.  It really felt like no one thought about this movie past the cash grab.  It felt really poorly put together.  It had a weak conflict, a very thin subplot, and not really a lot of very cool CG.  It wasn’t funny at all, and just felt cold, and boring.  I was really let down by this.  The 3-D as usual was unnoticeable and wasn’t needed.  I am sad this is the movie that got served up as the third in a solid franchise.

I think you can skip this completely.  If you love Will Smith, you can rent it on Netflix or catch it on HBO later.  I would not pay for this one, and I definitely would not pay for it in 3-D.  I don’t think the MIB’s needed to come back.
