The Bourne Legacy

The Bourne Legacy Movie Review

One Sentence:  Terminator 7, world edition!

Rated: PG-13

Release Date: 10-Aug-2012

Nudity: None

I have seen all the Bourne movies in their shaky cam glory.  After having seen all three movies, I can honestly say, I have no idea what they are about.  I think that they way they were shot made my brain break in some way, like a concussion.  When I have no memory of what I just saw except for a blur of action.  So when I saw The Bourne Legacy I was lucky in two ways.  It didn’t require me to remember much from the first three movies, and there was far less shaky cam, so I could remember the movie a little more.

As the movie started, I was into it, action, thrills, spies.  It was working, it was good.  The better shot action really helped a lot, and I was loving this movie.  I thought this might even be better than the other movies, but I wasn’t sure based on my memory loss.  Then things changed.  It went from this smart, action thriller, to a Terminator movie.  Pure action, hardly any dialogue, and a high speed chase on a freeway with an indestructible killer.  This scene took up a lot of the end of the movie.  It just went from something I was interested in and enjoying to a silly action sequence, that just ended.  As the story went along the plot got thinner and the action got more overdone.  It felt like two different movies, and when it was over, I didn’t like where it went.

I think that this movie seems like one you can skip.  It is just another cash grab sequel that doesn’t really need to be seen.  It really let me down, and I think you will be let down as well.
