Seven Psychopaths Movie Review

Seven Psychopaths Movie Review

One Sentence: A wonderfully L.A. pulp film.

Rated: R

Release Date: 12-Oct-2012

Nudity: Boobs

So this is a  movie I didn’t expect, or even knew was coming.  A wonderful ensemble movie that takes place in the middle of L.A. about, movies, dogs, gangstas, and psychopaths.  I saw the preview last week and I didn’t know what to think.  I only knew I wanted to see it because everyone in it is awesome and thought the preview was a little odd.  What was this movie going to end up being about.

The movie shakes out as this perfect little tiny story about writing a script.  The way that script plays out in the movie and as part of the movie is a work of genius writing.  This amazing script is backed up by the power of strong dialogue actors, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson and Colin Farrell.  It fills in with an additional supporting cast that is just as strong.  This mix of flashback, fiction, reality, Los Angeles, dogs, and guns works amazingly well.  It’s a little bit of a lot of things, and to balance that as well as it does in this movie is a wonderful feat.  I had an amazing time with Seven Psychopaths.

This movie is just good.  If you are into those quintessential L.A. movies this is another one to add to the list.  It is totally worth going to see in the theater.  I wouldn’t expect it to be in the theater for very long so you are going to have to hurry to check this one out.  I can’t recommend it enough.
