It has been a wild weekend for Wall-E. 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, over 60 million at the box office, countless postive reviews from just about everyone. Me included, I enjoyed Wall-E quite a bit. I would suspect almost everyone has heard someone say something good about Wall-E. You will hear some things here, but I guess I ether got over hyped, or something happened, because while I thought it was a good movie, I did not see it as the best movie of the year, nor even the best Pixar has ever done as I have heard all over the net this weekend.
Wall-E is one of the most iconic wonderful characters animation has created in a long, long time, I will give Pixar that. I would not mind some Wall-E merch and a Wall-E ride at Disney World. He is cute, wonderful, and full of life without saying a word and for just that the movie is great. The characters are all cute and amazing and portray thier emotions without speaking. It is quite a sight to see. Along with the beautiful back drop, scenes and animation this movie is worth full price.
However, I didn't think in the realm of story telling this was Pixar's best or this year's best movie. I thought it was sweet, and cute, and had a message that was solid and something worth listening to. However it just did not deliever that extra touch that I look for in movies for what I consider the best movie of the year. There was somthing a little bit lost, I am not sure what that is, but I just didn't feel that the movie delivered the knock out punch. So while I would say yes go see this movie, I guess I am not on the bandwagon of best movie of the year, sorry Wall-E.
