I have a cat, her name is #2. I have had this cat for almost 10 years, she sleeps next to me, moves with me when I change rooms, and is my baby. I am telling you this because How To Train Your Dragon is an animal movie, and my review could be tainted because I saw a lot of kitty and pet like things in the super cute and awesome dragons, so I might be a little bias when I say I loved this movie.
Thinking about the last year of animated movies, everything seemed so heavy. Up, Mr Fox, and even The Princess And The Frog were a bit heavy in subject matter, so I was pleased with the fun and lightness of How To Train Your Dragon. Not that the story wasn't great, and good for adults, I think it was, it just felt more like a fun animated movie and not pushing a heavy weight on you. When I left I was excited, bouncy and felt like I had a great time with a fun movie. The animation was stellar, it was funny when it was supposed to be and sweet when it was supposed to be. It was fun for adults and I think the kids too and is one of my favorite animated movies of the last 10 years.
I would go check out this movie in the theater for sure, especially if you have kids, but you could have fun with it, even if you don't have kids. Like me.
