I wasn’t expecting much from Frankenweenie. Tim Burton has been in what I feel is a slump, Disney has been hit and miss, and I didn’t like the idea of the whole movie being in Black and White 3-D. With the technology we have, I just feel like even an artistic choice of Black and White, is nostalgic at best, and doesn’t add to the movie. It only takes away, as is it’s nature. So there is my complaint. With the amazing characters that were created and the stunning animation, it should of been in color. It would of been just that much better.
That is my only complaint. This is an amazing, funny, wonderful monster movie just in time for Halloween that I just fell in love with. Especially “Weird girl,” who is in the poster I picked. I was just overjoyed with this movie. The dry comedy, and wonderful story, the truly stunning animation, and amazing lovable characters, that are going to stand the test of time, like Jack Skellington and Sally. The whole movie was just perfect from start to end. It is the perfect Halloween movie for you and your kids.
I can not recommend this movie enough. This movie is going on my year end list of movies you should of seen in the theater for 2012. So I am telling you now. Go see it in the theater, this weekend, with friends and family, and then go see it again, on Halloween night. It is so much fun, and my pick for best animated movie of 2012 so far.
