Angelina Jolie, and John Malkovich in the next Clint Eastwood movie. It is one of those movies that they all say is Oscar worthy and all of that. I never pass judgment like that before I see the movie, and after I saw it, I can say that it is not an Oscar worthy movie at all. It is a good movie but I don't expect it to be nominated for anything.
Changeling is the type of movie that the preview makes me want to not watch it, it looks sad, dismal and has nothing about it that makes you want to go see it. It feels like such a down story that I was dreding checking it out. I am glad to say that while this is a sad story, it does not leave you emotionally scared. It has some things in it that are quite satisfying and does not come out as you expected it to. It made me enjoy the movie far more and to allow me to take a breath and think to myself that there is some justice in the world.
The story, acting, and sets are done well. The actors put on their best but with the story being what it was it seemed to leave everyone a little bit weak. There are no super powerful performances here. There is no amazing story that envokes a powerful feeling in your gut and say this movie is amazing. It is good and that is all I can say about it, not great, not amazing and not oscar worthy. If you are one that likes depressing with some satisfaction then you should check this out on DVD. For most of you I don't think you need to see it, as it is not worth the 2 hours and 20 minutes.
